 Rozet and the Charente Region
The area is accessible by air (Bordeaux, Poitiers and Limoges) and
then fast train to Angoulême where there are several car
hire companies. Equally the TGV link with Eurostar means that you can be at Rozet in about 8 hours from London.
Alternatively if you come by car we are about 8 hours drive from Saint-Malo (Brittany).
Angoulême is about 25 minutes drive away with its beautiful
cathedral, museums and restaurants.
The small towns of Mareuil-sur-Belle (Dordogne) and Villebois
Lavalette (Charente) are about 15
minutes by car from Rozet. Both have a fine Chateau, small supermarkets,
weekly open air markets, shops banks and post offices. Nearby is the market town of Brantôme, on the river Dronne, with its imposing Abbey and
troglodyte settlements and several fine restaurants.
The Cognac region, Bergerac and Saint-Emilion are within reach, ideal for visiting
vineyards, caves and distilleries for wine, cognac and pineau tasting.
There is a swimming pool 10km distant and various activities in the vicinity. During the summer the local Syndicat
d'Initiative organises a numbers of visits and activities for all ages including paragliding, canoeing, horse riding
and rambling.
